hydraulics, will be represented at Asia's key trade show for construction machinery in 2024. In
keeping with the motto “Smart Actuation for smart applications,” the company will be showcasing
its complete product range for the off-highway market at this year's bauma event in China. Among
the highlights featured at the company's booth are actuators, pilot valves, and pilot control units
boasting integrated intelligence for maximum efficiency and precision – engineered for perfect
integration into customer systems.

From November 26 to 29, 2024, Shanghai promises to be a hotspot for the Asian construction
industry: More than 2,800 exhibitors from 34 countries have registered for the bauma China event, a
platform to showcase their innovations to an international audience of industry professionals.
Thomas will be among those represented. The motto chosen by the company for the trade show –
“Smart Actuation for smart applications” – reflects a key trend within the industry: system-based
solutions are increasingly gaining ground in the construction machinery sector. Drawing on their key
benefits in respect of autonomy, precision, efficiency, connectivity and control, electromechanical
applications have become more and more widespread.

Exhibiting at Booth 168 in Hall N4, Thomas will thus be focusing on its high-tech products developed
specifically for seamless integration into customer systems, the emphasis being on its
Electromechanical Actuator (EMA), its Electrohydraulic Actuator (EHA 2.0), its Compact Pilot Actuator
(CPA), and its Integrated Pilot Head (IPH). In addition, Thomas distributors Burker Technology
(Shanghai) Co. Ltd. and Linzhi (Shanghai) Drive Technology Co., Ltd. will be represented at the
Thomas booth, showcasing various hydraulic blocks that feature Thomas valves.

EMA and EHA: for maximum system reliability
Those in search of solutions that meet the most exacting standards when it comes to the system
integrity of construction machinery, cranes, or steering applications, for example, are encouraged to
visit the Thomas booth and explore the merits of the company's EMA and EHA. Both actuators are
CAN-controlled and feature integrated intelligence, on the basis of which the system status is
reported back to the higher-level system, thus providing important real-time data for operation. At
the same time, their compelling properties include rapid response times, high precision, and smooth
motion control.
The EMA, in particular, displays its strengths primarily in its role as an intelligent pilot control for
small to medium-sized machines. It provides the basis for compact machine design, while also
simplifying commissioning and maintenance and combining maximum precision with low machine
operating costs.

IPH and CPA: greater scope for manufacturers
IPH and CPA proportional pressure reducing valves offer an equally compelling proposition. They
have been specially designed to meet a new set of requirements in the construction machinery
market, the emphasis in this case being on the segment of compact machines. Both offer maximum
efficiency and precision. Featuring an integrated valve sleeve, the IPH with its unique patented
design is the perfect choice for OEMs pursuing increasingly compact machine design. The CPA, in
turn, facilitates the design of narrower main control valves, which can be assembled much faster as
part of the production process.

PPCD09 and PPCP09: reliable clutch control
Finally, Thomas has further refined its valve portfolio for clutch controls, the objective being to
provide the market with even more productive technologies and systems tailored to today's
requirements. Thus, the valve portfolio for clutch controls – featuring the PPCD09 and PPCP09 valves
– is also one of the highlight exhibits at the company's booth. Boasting a particularly compact and
dirt-resistant design, they are acknowledged for their low hysteresis and oscillating stability as a key
benefit. This provides the basis for maximum reliability and precision at all times. In addition, Thomas
provides excellent customer support to the off-highway market. Supporting customers in their
ongoing developments, adapting the Thomas product portfolio perfectly to the customer's
application and providing additional training and advice are key activities to maintain our customer
