Looking for Bauma China brand exhibitors?
Public Time: 2020.10.12
As a long-time supplier of high-quality final and slew drives, Comer Industries recently expanded its product range with a line of purpose-built track and slew drives, specifically for the Excavator market.
On show at Bauma China one of its largest final drives, the PGR 18000
series.
The 80-100 ton
machine size range is largest category of Excavators for Construction Equipment;
requiring the highest performance and reliability for the toughest working
conditions. At this Bauma China edition, this brand-new package solution for these Excavator models is presented.
Through
collaboration and co-design with a renown Japanese hydraulic manufacturer,
Comer Industries is now supporting all OEM customers worldwide where there has
historically been a lack of reliable and advanced suppliers in this size range.
This three planetary drives unit, which comes
to the market in a wide range of ratios, can now also be equipped and supplied
with a plug-in 300+cc, two speed axial
piston motor that uses the most advanced Japanese design and technology. Based
on the same design concept of the standard Comer Industries Wheel Drive range,
this new final drive has been optimized for the high-volume
Excavator markets. It uses high strength monolithic housings capable of
accepting hydraulic components of the motors while also withstanding the high
mechanical loads required by the application. Such a design delivers high
power density in a cost-effective package that is required in this competitive
market.
In order to
offer power transmission solutions for the entire Excavator market, the PG-2800 series slew drive, intended for
36-50 ton range if used alone or 75+ ton machine as twin set, will also be exhibited:
such solution can also be used on Forestry Machines or Material Handling
machines. With a wide selection of pinions
to meet customers’ requirements, these two-stage
planetary slew drives can be coupled with a stand-alone slew motor and supplied as a complete package or can be
delivered as the gearbox only.
Made from the same high-quality materials as traditional Comer Industries
slew drives, these new units feature alloy steel shafts and gears, spheroidal
cast iron housings, and custom materials for output pinions for use in extreme
climates. To deliver the most efficient and cost-effective designs for
the high-volume Excavator markets, the use of monolithic housings saves
material, reduces weight, assembly time, cost and overall footprint when
compared to modular designs.
In cases where monolithic castings are not required, Comer Industries can
still offer its full line of completely modular slew drives which are easily
constructed to meet each customer’s individual requirements. A variety of
output options such as flange mounting, splined shaft, or integral pinion
outputs and the ability to accept either hydraulic or electric motors, Comer Industries
slew drives can be adapted to fit any application.
These
solutions, thanks to their state-of-the-art design, virtual simulation and manufacturing
technology, maximize the power density
and reduce size,
while fulfilling the growing needs of OEMs in terms of performances and improved
efficiency.
Comer
Industries is strongly focused on product innovation as an essential
competitive factor. Powertrain products that will be introduced at Bauma China are
the result of the company’s strategy for axles and transmissions.
Cornerstones
of these product ranges presented in this exhibition are the new-generation
P-10 axle series, which delivers an integrated solution dedicated to MEWP application.
Developed from the same modular concept as the Comer Industries new axle
generation, the P-10 axle range was designed and built to match the specific
market segment requirements in terms of safety, performance and total
cost of ownership (TCO).
Compact,
for easy installation on the machine, the axle delivers the requested
performance granting safety and reliability.
The P-10
range will pair with multi-purpose transmissions: for traditional powertrain
layout, in case of thermal power engine, a hydro motor is integrated in the
axle itself.
The main
purpose of the P-10 Hydroaxle is to deliver proper system efficiency
within an ergonomic and compact solution at the most competitive TCO.
Within the
same drivetrain architecture and while keeping the front axle of the machine
unaltered, the rear axle could mate with an electric motor for Full Electric
or Diesel Electric powertrain systems.
The
electric drivetrain solution is progressing with the Electrification Step I
Program already launched at Bauma Munich 2019.
In addition to drivetrain products, Comer Industries aims to provide a fully integrated solution also for the slew drive function: the PG-160 drive will be displayed as part of the planetary drive product range. It is combined with a hydraulic motor and counterbalance valve in single package.
