Product Introduction

Hall-effect-based crankshaft and camshaft sensors are essential components of modern engine management systems. They operate contactlessly, providing precise measurements of shaft position and rotational speed while offering high temperature resistance for demanding engine environments. The sensors consist of a Hall element and a magnet. As specially designed teeth or markers on the crankshaft or camshaft pass the sensor, they alter the magnetic field. The Hall element detects these changes and converts them into electrical signals. These signals are sent to the engine control unit (ECU), which calculates the exact position and speed of the shafts. This information enables precise control of ignition timing, fuel injection, and other critical engine functions. In addition, camshaft sensors help synchronize the camshaft with the crankshaft. A deliberate irregularity in the target wheel, such as a missing tooth, allows the sensor to determine the exact shaft position and ensure accurate valve timing control.
